Here are some answers to your questions:

Are sessions covered by insurance?

It depends on your level of insurance as to whether mental health issues are covered or not. Generally insurance companies do not cover extended sessions or couples counselling in general.

Do you bulk bill?

No. Currently we are not able to bulk bill.

How much do you charge?

We charge $300 Australian dollars per per hour. This is the same rate whether it is an individual or a couple. If you cannot afford this, please discuss it with us as we may be able to provide a sliding scale.

Enquiries / phone calls / texts / letters / emails which take under five minutes to respond to are free.

Phone calls / texts / letters / emails which take between 5 and 20 minutes cost $80. Anything that requires a longer response is better handled by a normal phone or video or face to face session.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require you to supply your credit or debit card details while you are making your online booking.

This will allow us to process your payment (and your Medicare rebate if applicable) after your session.

If you let us know that you can’t attend your appointment, we can help you to reschedule (e.g. if you wake up sick that morning). But please let us know as soon as you can.

If you just don’t show up for your appointment – your credit or debit card will be charged for 80% of the session cost and this will not be refunded. And you will also not receive your Medicare rebate as you didn’t have the session.

Which ethics standards do you abide by?

We follow the ethics and policies of the following Associations:

Australian Psychological Society

AHPRA – Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority.

Do you have any registered Workcover Queensland providers?

Yes.

What is your company name?

Zarya Pty Ltd – trading as “Restarting Relationships”.  ACN: 671616818. ABN: 52671616818.

Can I see a psychologist online?

Yes. And it may be more effective—and more flexible—than you think.

We use secure, end-to-end encrypted platforms that comply with Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act and AHPRA/APS telehealth guidelines. No one else can access or listen to your session.

Does online couples counselling really work?

Yes. See this article for more details.

How many sessions will I need?

That is up to you and your goals. If you have been referred by your GP, you may be under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) which entitles you to get a Medicare rebate for part of your fee for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

It is the duty of our psychologist to liaise with your GP after the first 6 sessions in order to get permission for you to have 4 more.

This is explained in the Better Access Initiative

You can have more sessions during the year if you need them, but you will not receive a Medicare rebate for them.

Do you provide Queensland Workcover sessions?

Yes. If you are entitled to claim under Workcover, our psychologist can provide the session.
